The events of Chigiana Lounge  will give the public the opportunity to enter the heart of the Festival, to learn more and follow the artistic lines, meeting some of its protagonists.
As usual, at the Santa Maria della Scala, Stefano Jacoviello and Nicola Sani will converse informally with artists, critics, musicologists and other guests, and at the end a glass will be offered to celebrate before going to the concert together.
The series of meetings is dedicated to “Out of Nature”, that is the central theme of the relationship between music and nature, where between ambiguity and complementarity, the first has always tried to imitate, describe, translate and even replace the second.
Numerous tributes to today’s music masters: from Festival guests such as Bruno Letort, to chigiani masters such as Alvise Vidolin and Roberto Fabbriciani, up to the recently deceased composer Mario Bertoncini.
We could not miss a focus on Iannis Xenakis, to whom the 2019 edition is dedicated, and a series of insights related to original chigiane productions that celebrate the landing, Paisiello’s The Barber of Seville, or investigate the transformations of music in the era of digital arts, the crossing of the American poetics of Frank Zappa and Charlie Mingus, to end on the transcription of the Goldberg Variations
